Tribal elder killed in Hub bomb blast – Pakistan

KHUZDAR: A prominent political leader and tribal chief from Awaran district was killed and two others were injured in a bomb blast in the industrial city of Hub on Monday evening.

Police said Mir Akram Sajidi was driving in his car with two other people on the Quetta-Karachi national road when a powerful explosion occurred in the car.

After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the scene. They transferred the body and the injured to Jam Ghulam Qadir Memorial Hospital in Hub.

“Akram Sajidi was wounded several times and died instantly,” district police officer Tariq Mastoi said. Dawn. He said an improvised explosive device was attached to the bottom of the vehicle. The injured were identified as Abdul Karim Sajidi, a retired employee of Quetta Electric Supply Company, and Mohammad Rafiq Sajidi. They were both from Awaran district. This was the second Hub car bomb in three weeks.

Earlier on October 11, a bomb exploded in the car of a local journalist, Shahid Zehri, in which he was killed. Balochistan’s chief minister, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, who himself belongs to the Awaran district, condemned the murder of Akram Sajidi in a bomb explosion. He called the bombing a cowardly act and said the elements behind the explosion would soon be brought to justice.

He expressed his sadness at the death of Akram Sajidi, saying he was not only a politician but also a business leader in the region. He ordered the Inspector General of Police of Balochistan to take all possible measures for the arrest of those involved in the explosion.-Abdul Wahid Shahwani
