Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

E3 may have been canceled this year, but you can still follow all the game news and announcements via our Summer Game Fest calendar.

Summer Game Fest will take place on Thursday, June 9, and will be accompanied by a number of other live presentations from various companies and organizations.

The most notable of these is the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 12.

Although there are a reduced number of shows this year, it can still be difficult to keep track of absolutely everything, which is why we’ve put together this comprehensive schedule for the week ahead.

It’s worth noting that not all streams are officially part of “Summer Game Fest”, but they’re close enough for us to include them here.

Where to watch: Youtube/Twitch

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

One of this week’s main events, the third Summer Game Fest promises to showcase “the next stage of gaming with huge announcements of new games, world premieres, special guests and more.”

The show’s creator, Geoff Keighley, tried to temper expectations by saying it will be “mostly focused” on games that have already been announced.

However, there will still be new game announcements and “hopefully some surprises if it all hangs together,” Keighley said.

Keighley says he expects the show to last “about an hour and a half to two hours”, with the uncertainty due to its live setup and guest appearances.

Digital devolve

Time: 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST
Where to watch: Youtube/Twitch

To remark: To view this integration, please allow the use of functional cookies in cookie preferences.

It wouldn’t be a Devolver Digital event without a sarcasm-laden parody show that mixes industry satire with actual game announcements, and this year will be no different.

The theme for 2022 is “Devolver Marketing Countdown to Marketing”, supposedly because the publisher claims to have realized that celebrity-laden countdown events are sometimes more popular than the events themselves.

It will be hosted by ‘Mecha Suda 51’, a robot with a TV screen displaying the creator of No More Heroes.

Friday, June 10 at the Summer Game Fest

IGN lounge

Time: 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

Netflix’s Geeked Week will run throughout this week (hence the name), with different presentations focusing on movies, TV shows, and anime.

It’s Friday’s Games presentation that will interest us the most, however, with new information promised on The Cuphead Show, Sonic Prime, Dota: Dragon’s Blood and Tekken Bloodline.

The broadcaster will also reveal more than 10 Netflix games, which will presumably be mobile titles.

Spotlight on Tribeca Games

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

The Tribeca Festival has selected nine games to show during the festival.

Where to watch: Youtube

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

Taking place immediately after Guerrilla Collective 3, the Wholesome Direct will focus entirely on uplifting and “comfortable” games.

Wholesome promises “new game reveals, exclusive footage, and even games that will launch during the show.”

A potential climax will be Coffee Talk Episode 2, a reveal that will be particularly poignant given that Coffee Talk creator Mohammad Fahmi passed away in March.

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

Following Sony’s State of Play presentation last week, Xbox is the only other member of the “big three” to have a presentation confirmed at the time of writing.

“This show will feature incredible titles from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and our partners around the world,” Microsoft said when announcing the event.

“The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase will include everything you need to know about the diverse lineup of games coming to the Xbox ecosystem, including upcoming Game Pass releases on Xbox and PC.”

So far, 17 games have been confirmed on the Guerrilla Collective website, with “more in the day and plenty of exclusives” promised.

Capcom Showcase

Time: 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST
Where to watch: Youtube/Twitch

Summer Game Fest Schedule: Your Complete 2022 Guide

Capcom will host a 35-minute show that it says will offer “in-depth news and updates on previously announced Capcom titles.”

So don’t expect any major new bombshells of unannounced games, but there may be more information on recently revealed games like the Resident Evil 4 remake or Street Fighter 6.

Tuesday, June 14 at the Summer Game Fest

Showcase Extended “will share new trailers, dig into Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase news, and speak with some of your favorite game creators,” the publisher promises.

While it’s safe to assume that major announcements will be released during the main showcase on June 12, there may be a few minor surprises in store for this follow-up event.
