PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A RUMOR. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.
The Star wars franchising is no stranger to video games. Some of the best games of all time are Star wars Games. The Star Wars Battlefront (2004), Knights of the Old Republic and Jedi Academy are well remembered to this day. Even recently, games such as Jedi: Fallen Order were much appreciated. But now a recent rumor has it that another game is around the corner.
According to known insider Jeff Grubb, he said on the Giant Bomb Podcast, that a game called Star Wars Eclipse was under development by Quantic Dreams. Quantic Dreams is known for games like Heavy rain, Beyond two souls and Detroit: become human. The studios are run by David Cage, known for creating games that are very rich in stories and characters with a lot of dialogue. Not quite what you would expect when doing a Star wars Game.
The details revealed by Jeff Grubb were that the game will take place 200 years before the events of The phantom menace at the time of the High Republic, and that it will be an open world game.
These details are rather suspect since the High Republic push was considered a business failure. Not to mention that Quantic Dreams does not generally make open world games. So it could be a charge of hot air from someone wanting to get attention. These claims are pretty far-fetched, but you never know.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see if any of these claims are correct. But I don’t recommend taking them too seriously.
