Ludhiana, December 25

As part of the investigation into the bombing at the Ludhiana court, police today questioned two detainees on production orders. Sources said police also arrested a female police officer, believed to be the suspect’s girlfriend, stationed in the office of an SP rank officer in Khanna.

The two inmates – Ranjit Singh, alias Cheeta, and Sukhwinder Singh – were housed in the central prison here in connection with cases of drug trafficking and explosives recovery. Sukhwinder was arrested three years ago with RDX by Khanna police.

Police sources said that when Gagandeep Singh, a fired, deceased and suspect police chief was arrested in connection with a drug case and held in jail, he came into contact with both. They could also be part of the plot hatched by Gagandeep, the sources said.

After Gagandeep was released on bail, they kept in touch with him by phone. They had spent time in the same barracks inside the prison, they added.

“We suspect that the two could reveal details about the plot, why Gagandeep sued with explosives and the intended target. Nothing could be confirmed at this stage, ”said a senior police official.

Sources said the role of the constable was also glossed over, as details of her call suggested she spoke to the suspect.

Meanwhile, during a raid on the suspect’s home, the National Investigation Agency and police recovered Rs 1 lakh in cash, a laptop, etc.

Naib short, thana munshi interrogated

Several people, including the munshi (thana clerk), the naib tribunal of Ludhiana courts, a bank employee and close friends of the deceased who were in contact with the suspect, were also arrested for questioning by the police. indicated sources.
