Bulls C Joe Hudson tattooed a three-point shot, but Jumbo Shrimp 2B Bryson Brigman went yard on a two-point bomb as Jacksonville had 12 hits (60-48) in a 5-4 win over Durham (59 -49) 5- 4 Thursday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Despite the loss, the Bulls hold a 2-1 lead in the six-game series.

Jacksonville came first on the board in the first frame with an RBI single from 1B Jerar Encarnacion before Bulls 3B Tristan Gray tied the game with his own RBI single in the bottom half of the frame. In the third, Encarnacion did more damage at home plate for the Jumbo Shrimp with an RBI double, and 3B Willians Astudillo lined up an RBI single in the continuation at bat for the 3-1 lead. In the fifth, Hudson fired a three-point shot to put the Bulls ahead 4-3. In the sixth, however, Brigman would put the Jumbo Shrimp back in front on a two-point outburst.

Jumbo Shrimp starter Matthew Kent picked up the win after 5.2 innings of work, allowing four runs on seven hits and four strikeouts. Bulls starter Taj Bradley suffered the loss.

The Bulls are set to continue their six-game homestand Friday night against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, with a first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. RHP Luis Patino is expected to start for Durham and be opposed by RHP Nick Neidert.
