HBO Max’s Batgirl film ends in Glasgow


In the heights star Leslie Grace took to instagram to confirm this production on the next HBO Max bat girl film is finally finished, after four months of filming in Glasgow, Scotland. In her post, Grace shared a video reel highlighting her fun interactions with the crew as she expresses her gratitude to them. The DCEU movie is set to debut later this year.

the bat girl movie stars Leslie Grace (In the heights) as Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon. The hero was first seen in 1967 Batman series with the late Yvonne Craig playing Barbara. The hero’s first appearance in a comic book dates back to Detective comic #357 by writer Gardner Fox and artist Carmine Infantino.

The live-action film also features the return of Oscar winner JK Simmons (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) and Michael Keaton (the flash), who are set to reprise their respective roles as Commissioner Gordon and Bruce Wayne/Batman. The additional cast includes Jacob Scipio, Ethan Kai, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front, and Brendan Fraser in his second role with the DC Universe as the villain Firefly.

bat girl is led by bad boys for life filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay written by Christina Hodson (Birds of prey, the flash). It is a Warner Bros production. Pictures and DC Films, with Kristin Burr (Cruel) producing.
