A viral message listing the harmful effects of the microwave oven goes viral on messaging platforms. The post claims that due to its harmful effects, the use and production of microwaves has been banned in Japan.
Fact Crescendo received the same message on its Factline number 24 Ã 7 904 905 3770 with a request to verify the information. Archived link
Here is the message:
âEnd of the microwave industry !!!!! The Japanese government has decided to get rid of all * microwave ovens * in the country before the end of the year.
Reason for the ban: Scientists at Hiroshima University have researched and found that “radio waves” from microwave ovens cause more damage to health in the past 20 years than US atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in September 1945.
Experts have found that foods heated in microwave ovens have very unhealthy vibrations and radiation.
All âmicrowave ovenâ factories in Japan are being closed.
South Korea has announced plans to shut down all âmicrowave ovenâ factories by 2021 and China by 2023.
A cancer prevention conference held at the Kashira Cancer Center recommended:
1. No refined oil
2. No milk of animal origin (soy milk recommended)
3. No food cubes (chicken broth spices like Maggie, etc.)
4. No soda (32 sugar cubes per liter)
5. No refined sugar
6. No microwave ovens
7. No mammogram before birth, except echocardiography
8. No Very tight underwear and bra
10. Do not refreeze thawed foods.
11. Do not drink chilled water stored in plastic bottles stored in the refrigerator.
12. Avoid deodorants used after shaving or bathing, as they cause cancer.
The conference advises adding them to your diet:
2. Honey moderately used instead of sugar
3. Vegetable protein (beans instead of meat)
4.2 cups of water at body temperature on an empty stomach before brushing your teeth
5. Food should be hot and not very hot.
6. Aloe vera juice + ginger + parsley + celery + bromaline (Mix and drink on an empty stomach)
7. Carrot juice every day
8. Tomato, garlic onion with meals
Note: The American Physicians Association has found the causes of cancer:
1. Do not drink anything hot from plastic cups.
2. Do not eat anything hot wrapped in paper or cardboard or in a plastic bag (eg fried potatoes).
3. Do not eat in plastic dishes or in the microwave
When plastic is exposed to heat, chemicals that can cause 52 types of cancer are released.
You should also avoid drinking all kinds of carbonated drinks such as’ Cola, Pepsi, Av, Fanta and all juice concentrates because cancer feeds on sugar. Eat fresh pineapples and avoid pineapple mixes. Do not eat heavy food after 7 p.m.
Drink more water in the morning and less in the evening. Do not assume a horizontal position (lying / sleeping) immediately after eating.

He says the Japanese government has decided to destroy all microwave ovens in the country before the end of this year. The reason is that scientists at Hiroshima University have found that microwave waves have caused more damage to health in the past 20 years than the US atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Experts have found that food heated in a microwave oven has a lot of unhealthy vibrations and radiation. All Japanese microwave factories are closed. South Korea and China have also decided to close all factories by 2021 and 2023. It also has a list of recommendations, including diet, which was shared by a Kashira cancer center.
Fact Crescendo discovered that the information contained in the viral message is false.
In the beginning, we researched microwave radiation, microwave cooking, and microwave safety standards. You can read it all below.
What is microwave radiation?
The United States Environmental Protection Agency website provides information on microwave radiation. According to the website, microwave ovens use electromagnetic waves that enter food, vibrating certain molecules and generating heat that is transferred to the food. The non-ionizing radiation used by a microwave does not make food radioactive. Microwaves are only produced when the oven is in use. The microwaves produced inside the oven are absorbed by the food and produce the heat that cooks the food. Microwave ovens are built to ensure that electromagnetic radiation does not leave the oven.
Microwave Safety Standards:
According to the US Food and Drugs website, the FDA sets performance standards for power producers and ensures that radiation does not pose a risk to public health. A federal standard limits the amount of microwaves that can escape from an oven over its lifetime to 5 milliwatts (mW) of microwave radiation per square centimeter at about 2 inches from the surface of the oven. This limit is well below the level known to harm people.
Are microwave radiation injuries common?
According to the US Food and Drugs website, most injuries associated with microwave ovens are related to heat from hot containers, overly hot food, or liquids. There are very few cases of radiation damage due to extraordinary circumstances or improper service.
From the above, it is clear that microwave radiation is not of concern.
So where did the viral message claim come from?
We searched Google using various keywords to find out where the viral claim came from. After a search, we found out that the same claim was posted on March 3, 2018 on a Russian website, Panorama. After reading and translating the article into English, we found that there was no difference between the viral post and the article. A disclaimer on the website reads, âAll of the text on this site is grotesque parodies of reality and is not real news. “
Following this, we checked online to see if we had any information about the part of the post that states the recommendations from a Kashira Cancer Center. We have found nothing to support this part of the allegation. However, we noticed that the National Cancer Center of Japan has a campus in Kashiwa in the Chiba-ken region of the country.
We checked the official website for such a list of dietary recommendations, but we did not find any such entry anywhere.
Our investigation has shown that there is no truth to the viral claim. The message is taken from an article published on a satirical website. The claim that Japan has banned the use and stopped production of microwave ovens is false.
