Bihar: 2 children injured and 4 fell unconscious after bomb blast at Gaya Government School


Patna, July 16: Two schoolchildren were injured and four others lost consciousness after a bomb exploded in Gaya district, Bihar, on Saturday.

Harpreet Kaur, the Chief Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Gaya confirmed the incident. She said the victims were injured and had been admitted to a hospital in Wazirganj, and were out of danger.

The blast took place at Murgiyachak Government Primary School under Wazirganj Police Station on Saturday morning. The victims have been identified as Satyendra Kumar Manjhi (10) and Niraj Kumar Manjhi (9). “Students were playing inside the school campus when the explosion happened. Four students also suffered the impact of the explosion and fell unconscious. We sent a team of bombs and dogs to the school for investigation,” Kaur said.

Villagers said three bombs also exploded in the village on Friday night.

Wajirganj is a Maoist dominated area of ​​Gaya district. Police said there was a possibility a bomb was kept on the school premises which exploded.
