Also among the dead was Mr. Niazi, an Afghan living in Britain who returned to Kabul to try to get his family out of the country before the end of the evacuation flights, were reported.

The taxi driver allegedly flew from Heathrow to Azerbaijan and then to Afghanistan in an attempt to get his wife and four children to safety.

The Afghan community of Aldershot was mourning on Friday night for the courageous and dedicated father who did all he could to bring his family to Britain to enjoy a better life.

Imran Naizi, a friend and member of the mosque, said The telegraph: “None of us can believe this happened. It is such a tragedy.

“He flew from Heathrow on Wednesday on the dangerous journey to pick up his family for a better life here and he was killed along with them. It’s incredible.”

Mr. Naizi added: “He came here in 2004 and worked as a taxi driver. He met his wife at his home in 2012, but she was living in Afghanistan with their children because she kept failing her English test, which was a requirement of the UK government before they could come here.

“When he saw what was going on there and how it was getting worse and worse, he made the decision to fly to Azerbaijan and then to Afghanistan to bring them back here for a better and safer life. – but now he is dead, his wife and two daughters are dead and his other daughter and son are seriously injured in the hospital.
