Alabama vs Auburn game preview

Why Alabama will win

Auburn is in trouble.

It was great for most of the season – losing to Penn State and Georgia is no complaints – but the O didn’t go against Texas A&M, the D didn’t do enough against Mississippi. State and lost to South Carolina. is not a plus no matter what.

It’s not like the Tigers are playing so poorly, and it’s not like there’s a huge issue like turnovers, but it just was a bad patch in the It’s Life in the City genre. DRY.

However, the secondary was a bit shaky.

Everyone will give up big yards to Mississippi State and Ole Miss, but the D pass went a little too big against South Carolina. Auburn allowed 13 touchdown passes in the five losses and six in the six wins.

Alabama should be able to move the ball however they want, but after a 559-yard day against Arkansas, Bryce Young and the guys are going to start bombing early.

Why Auburn will win

Alabama has this weird habit of not being able to put games away that easily. Of the SEC’s seven games so far, two were breakouts, one was a loss and the rest were a fight.

The state of New Mexico doesn’t count, but since it destroyed the state of Mississippi, it’s been a struggle.

The final score of 52-24 against Tennessee was excellent, but it was always a thing in the second half. LSU ran six meters and Bama had to hang on. Arkansas was tearing to shreds, and it was still a game with one behind score.

Auburn has a job here – brace yourself.

He doesn’t have the pop to call – although QB TJ Finley has the arm and the ability to challenge secondary Tide in depth – but there will be opportunities. Arkansas kept pushing and finished with 358 passing yards last week.

Bama will have its gusts, but there will be times when the momentum can and will change. The key is not to let these gusts become devastating.

what’s going to happen

The Bama D wakes up from his naps when needed.

Auburn has been excellent at passing protection, but he doesn’t do enough for the ground play to take Finley’s relief.

Will Anderson and the Bama Rush will take care of things in the key moments to block the Tiger attack, and the offense will be stable enough to eliminate most of the drama.

Alabama will be balanced, Young will be formidable, and that will be exactly the type of victory needed for the showdown against Georgia for the SEC Championship.

However, that won’t be a big enough erasure to set the tone for a larger college football playoff debate over whether a two-defeat Bama should be in attendance.
