A bomb attack shook Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The explosion took place at the Alokozay Kabul International Cricket Ground. The Shpageeza Cricket League match was taking place when the bomb went off among the spectators. The match took place on Friday July 29 in Kabul.
The most recent reports indicate that a suicide bombing occurred in Kabul during the Afghan Prime Minister T20 competition. Players from both sides were brought into a bunker. At the time of the incident, UN officials were also present at the stadium.
As panic ensued from the explosion, it was clear that people in the stadium were running for cover. In addition, there was tension between everyone in the stadium. The event happened during the 22nd Shpageeza Cricket League Championship match.
Kabul International Stadium hosted a match between Pamir Zalmi and the Band-e-Amir Dragons. The incident was verified by Kabul Police Headquarters. However, no casualties have been publicly disclosed at this time.

This week, a bomb exploded near Karte Parwan Gurudwara in Kabul. Last month there was another explosion after this one. According to reports, Gurudwara was attacked by the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP). This resulted in the death of many Taliban and Sikhs.
An IED placed inside the seating area appears to be the apparent reason for the explosion at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium. At least nine people were injured, but the actual number of casualties was likely higher. After the explosion, it appeared that round two had begun.

The Shpageeza Cricket League is a professional T20 league inspired by the IPL. Afghanistan Cricket Board started it in 2013. The event started with five teams. Also, Speenghar Tigers won the first edition.
Afghanistan has undoubtedly emerged as a future powerhouse in international cricket in recent times. Three additional teams became part of the league due to their apparent progress. These teams represent several national provinces.
There have been several bombings in Afghanistan. Reports say the Islamic State (IS) organization, which opposes the Taliban government, launched them. In one of the bloodiest incidents this year in May, 14 people lost their lives and 32 were injured. Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, a northern city, both suffered four blasts.
