A source in the oil community told the Daily Sun that the victims were carrying the bomb to Flo Station to detonate it at their facility when Nemesis caught up to them and the bomb exploded, killing them instantly.

A similar incident occurred in another oil community at Abaezi in the Ohaji/Egbema council area of ​​the state, where over 150 people lost their lives.

Meanwhile, Imo police have confirmed the bomb blast incident.

Command spokesman CSP Mike Abattam, who confirmed the incident to reporters in Owerri, said it happened in the early hours of yesterday. He said the two people who died were trying to carry the bomb to the oil company’s facilities.

Abattam said the explosion occurred at a facility operated by Addax Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited.

He said Imo Police Commissioner Mohammed Barde had already deployed a squad from the command’s anti-bomb unit, along with some of his officers to the area to prevent the breakdown of public order.

“It happened, there was a bomb blast this morning at the facility, but the commissioner deployed our men to the site,” Abattam said.
